Wolf Thread Tools proudly announced the commissioning of its first intelligent production line for high-end powder metallurgy taps in January 2021. Located in the Shaoguan Economic Development Zone, this cutting-edge facility represents a full-scale upgrade of the company’s tap-manufacturing capabilities and sets a new benchmark for precision threading tools made in China.
The new production line integrates more than 110 advanced machines, including CNC thread grinders, Swiss-type automatic lathes, flute grinders, square grinding machines, OD grinders, point-cutting machines, form centerless grinders, and automated cleaning systems. Compared with existing equipment, the new line achieves a significant enhancement in automation, accuracy, and stability.
To ensure world-class machining quality, Wolf selected internationally recognized equipment suppliers. Pre–heat treatment processes utilize Japanese Swiss-type CNC lathes, heat-treatment operations rely on Shanghai Falong vacuum hardening and tempering furnaces, OD finishing is completed with form centerless grinding machines, and post–heat treatment includes German CNC thread grinding machines known for exceptional precision. Flute grinding, square machining, and other key processes are equipped with fully intelligent CNC systems for consistent high-quality output.
From the project’s early planning stage, Wofeng established strict standards focusing on modernization, automation, intelligent control, and premium quality assurance. The resulting powder metallurgy taps are engineered to meet or exceed the quality of global top-tier brands, reinforcing Wolf’s ambition to become a global leader in powder metallurgy taps, carbide cutting tools, and threading solutions.
The new production line leverages the in-house powder metallurgy material advantage from HeYe Group, enabling Wofeng to accelerate its transformation into a high-end precision cutting tool manufacturer. This milestone not only strengthens Wolf’s position in the domestic market but also expands its global presence in industrial machining, automotive repair, aerospace precision manufacturing, and other advanced sectors.
